Team Merch Kit: Roster, Sideline, and Parent Gear Ready Before First Game

A pre-sized team bundle built for the parent who got volunteered for shirts this season. Rostered jerseys, coach polo, sponsor DTF strip, and a parent supporter shirt option: uploaded from a spreadsheet, produced in one pass, shipped before opening day.

The Golden Take

Short version, straight from the floor.

The Team Merch Kit is the pre-sized bundle for a fourteen to twenty-five player roster plus two coaches, a sponsor logo, and a supporter shirt option for the parents. It is designed around the way team orders actually happen: one parent volunteers, one sponsor logo shows up in an email, one deadline (first game) does not move. The kit takes that reality and turns it into a single line item so the parent does not have to source jerseys from one place, numbers from another, coach polos from a third, and sponsor placements from a fourth.

  • This is not a boutique custom jersey program. If your team wants full dye-sub cut-and-sew jerseys with custom colorways, tapered fit, and stitched sponsor patches, that is a $65 to $110 per unit program with a four to six week lead time. This kit is $18 to $32 per unit shipped in a week. Different animal.

  • The stock garment feels like a stock garment. Sport-Tek ST350 is a workhorse, not a Comfort Colors. It is comfortable and durable and it wicks. It is not premium-hand or brand-quality. If your team is trying to look like an NCAA program on a rec league budget, upgrade to Nike Dri-FIT and expect to pay $40+ per jersey.

  • One team, one design. The kit optimizes for a single team's roster with a single team design. If you have a league with twelve teams each needing a different color palette, that is a multi-team order which we quote separately (better per-unit pricing, longer coordination).

  • Sponsor art quality is your bottleneck. If the sponsor sent a 400x400 JPG of their logo pulled from Facebook, we can only save the print so much. We upcharge $35 for a vector cleanup if needed. Get vector art from the sponsor before you order and this line goes away.

1. What This Is

One bundle. Roster, sideline, and parent gear.

The default garment tier is Sport-Tek ST350 performance tees or Augusta 1790 jerseys because both hit the price ceiling youth sports leagues actually pay ($20 to $28 per unit finished) and both take dye-sublimation or DTF cleanly enough to survive a season of grass stains and washing. If the sponsor wants a heavier feel we upgrade to Sport-Tek ST450 or a Champion Double Dry. Number and name placement is DTF or sublimated based on garment fabric: 100 percent poly gets sublimated for zero-hand feel, blends get DTF. Coach polos are a Nike Dri-FIT or Sport-Tek ST650 in a differentiated color so parents can spot the coach across the field.

The upsell that pays for the kit is the parent supporter shirt. Attach rates in our data run 60 to 85 percent because grandparents and siblings buy in. That takes a $340 team order to a $520 team order without changing the roster or the sponsor arrangement, and it is why we ship the supporter shirt as a configurable option rather than an afterthought.

2. Who This Is For

If you got volunteered to do team shirts, keep reading.

  • Youth sports team parents

Little League, AYSO, Pop Warner, travel soccer, club lacrosse. Fourteen to twenty players, two coaches, one sponsor logo, one absolute deadline.

  • Adult rec league organizers

Corporate softball, kickball leagues, weekend basketball. Ten to sixteen players, two-color league jerseys, and a bar sponsor.

  • High school booster clubs

JV and varsity spirit shirts, warm-up tees, parent-of-athlete tees, sponsor recognition placements on the back of the shirt.

  • Small college club sports

Rugby, ultimate, club soccer, and cheer teams operating on club budgets rather than athletic department budgets.

  • League organizers ordering for the whole league

Ten to twenty teams under one league umbrella. Roster spreadsheet per team, one purchase order. Multi-team pricing available.

3. When to Order

Order backwards from first game.

  • Fourteen days before first game

Best case. Rosters are finalized, sponsor art is approved, sizes are collected. Produced same day, in your hands with a week of buffer for last-minute swaps.

  • Seven days before first game

Realistic case. Roster still shifting, sponsor art needs cleanup. We produce same-day and ship overnight if needed. Add a $25 rush shipping line and stop worrying.

  • Three days before first game

Panic mode. It is what it is. Send us your roster and art tonight. We produce tomorrow, next-day-air Wednesday, in your hands Thursday for a Saturday game.

  • Pre-season (four to six weeks out)

The right time for a full-league order. Coordinate roster collection across all teams, lock sponsor artwork, and get pricing on a multi-team purchase.

  • Mid-season reorder

New kid joined the team, a jersey got lost, a coach spilled coffee on the polo. No setup fee to reorder because your art is on file.

4. Honest Tradeoffs

What this kit is not.

The Team Merch Kit optimizes for speed, roster complexity, and total cost delivered. That optimization has costs. Here is what you are giving up.

6. What Beginners Should Order

First-time team parent, no design agency, no budget cushion.

Start with the eighteen-jersey ST350 kit plus a coach polo plus a parent supporter tee.

For a first-time team parent, the right configuration is eighteen Sport-Tek ST350 jerseys (fourteen players plus four buffer), two Nike Dri-FIT coach polos in a differentiated color, one DTF gang sheet for names and numbers, and a parent supporter shirt sold at cost to families to net back your out-of-pocket. Total kit lands around $340 to $420 depending on sizes. Parent supporter attach rate almost always covers the coach polo cost, so the team parent walks away roughly break-even on the order and the players get real jerseys with their names on the back.

11. Related FAQs

What team parents ask before they order.

How do I collect sizes from the roster?
Use the team roster upload template on our /learn/team-roster-upload-format page. It is a Google Sheet with columns for player name, jersey number, size, and (optionally) parent supporter add-on. Share it with the parents, they fill it in, you download as CSV, we parse it into the order.
What if the sponsor sends a bad logo file?
If the file is a 400x400 JPG pulled off Facebook, we will upcharge $35 for vector cleanup. If the file is a print-ready SVG or AI, we use it as-is. Ask the sponsor for the AI or EPS file first: it takes them thirty seconds and saves you $35.
Can I add a player after the initial order ships?
Yes. Reorders come with no setup fee because your artwork and roster are on file. A single-jersey addition ships next-day for the per-unit price of the original order.
Do you do full dye-sublimated cut-and-sew jerseys?
Not through this kit. This is a stock-blank-plus-decoration program because that is where the price ceiling for youth sports actually lives. If you need true dye-sub cut-and-sew, we route you to a specialty partner and stay out of that lane.
Do you offer multi-team league pricing?
Yes. Once you cross ten teams under one league umbrella, per-unit pricing improves noticeably. Contact us with the league name, team count, and rough roster size and we quote it.
How does turnaround work for a Saturday game?
Order confirmed by Monday evening: produced Tuesday, shipped Tuesday night, in your hands Thursday or Friday for a Saturday game. Order confirmed Wednesday: next-day-air Thursday, in your hands Friday. After Wednesday for a Saturday game, we can help but it gets tight.
