Who this is for

Built for the buyers who know the job in advance.

Every Golden product page names the specific buyers this product actually serves. If you do not see your job in this list, look at the comparison block below. The right product for your job may not be this one.

  • Product brands adding label or seal decoration

Skincare, candle, food, and packaging brands who need a scratch-resistant label they can peel and apply to bottles, jars, boxes, and shrink sleeves at fulfillment.

  • Breweries and beverage makers

Growler labels, keg tags, tap handles, cooler decals, and event merch. The laminate handles condensation and ice-bath exposure without lifting.

  • Product companies branding hardware

Equipment ID plates, tool decals, hardhat brands, laptop stickers, and hard-case labeling. Works on anodized aluminum, powder coat, ABS, and painted surfaces.

  • Retail and event decorators

Window clings for storefronts, laptop swag for conference giveaways, retail counter merch. Any surface where a peel-and-stick sticker outperforms a heat-applied graphic.

  • Etsy and boutique sellers running kits

Sticker packs, planner stickers, journal decorations, water bottle collections. The 3 mil vinyl reads as premium against the cheap 2 mil competitors on Amazon.

Do not buy this if

We will tell you when to buy something else.

Every competitor makes money when you order the wrong product. Golden makes more when you order the right one. Here are the jobs this product is not built for.

  • You are decorating apparel or fabric.

Vinyl stickers do not bond to fabric. The adhesive is designed for hard non-porous surfaces and the vinyl itself will not survive a single wash cycle.

Consider Custom DTF Transfers by Size
  • You need a wrap for a curved tumbler or drinkware.

Die-cut vinyl on a curved 20oz tumbler will tent at the edges and lift under dishwasher heat. UV DTF is built exactly for that job.

    Consider Custom UV DTF Transfers
  • Your design is smaller than 1 inch on the shortest side.

The contour cutter needs a defensible cut path. Below 1 inch the cut becomes ragged and fine detail disappears into the laminate.

  • You are producing under $10 in stickers.

The $0.22 per square inch rate is efficient at scale but a single 2 by 2 sticker at 88 cents is not worth the shipping. Batch a sheet or add stickers to a larger order.

Production detail

What you actually get, from the shop floor.

No marketing adjectives. Real manufacturing detail: how the product is built, what it feels like, and where it applies.

Material and construction

3 mil premium adhesive vinyl with a UV-cured laminate top coat. The vinyl is calendered white PVC rated for 5 plus years of indoor use and 2 plus years of outdoor exposure. The laminate blocks UV fade and seals the print against moisture. Available in glossy or matte finish. The adhesive is a permanent-grade acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive rated for 40 pound peel strength on clean smooth substrates.

Fit, feel, and detail

Each sticker is contour-cut on a Mimaki-class production plotter with a kiss-cut through the vinyl face but not the paper backer. That means peel-and-stick with the backing intact until application. Overall thickness is roughly 5 mil after laminate, thicker than a bumper sticker but thinner than a decal you would put on a hardhat. Substantial enough to feel premium in hand, thin enough to conform to gentle curves like water bottles and coolers.

Where these stickers work best

  • Rigid non-porous surfaces: glass, sealed wood, painted metal, powder coat, ABS, hard plastic, laptop shells, phone cases.
  • Outdoor exposure: rated for 2 plus years of direct sun and rain. Vehicle windows, storefront glass, exterior signage.
  • Product packaging: apply to smooth-finish boxes, foil bags, mylar pouches, and treated corrugate. Skip untreated craft cardboard.
  • Cold and refrigerated goods: adhesive holds down to 20 degrees F. Freezer applications require test on your specific substrate.

Common uses

What decorators, brands, and buyers actually route through this product. If your use is not on this list, that is a signal to look at the comparison block above.

  • Brewery growler labels, keg tags, and event coasters
  • Product packaging seals and bottle labels for cosmetics, candles, and food brands
  • Laptop, tablet, and phone decals for retail merch and conference swag
  • Equipment ID plates, hardhat decals, and tool branding

  • Vehicle decals for company fleets and personal vehicles
  • Trade show and conference giveaway sticker packs

Industry recommendations

Which decorators buy this most.

  • Promotional Product Companies

Batch stickers into swag kits alongside apparel and drinkware for corporate accounts.

  • Apparel Brands

Add packaging stickers to branded box drops, hangtag seals, and inclusion pack elements.

  • Etsy Sellers

Run sticker packs as a secondary revenue line alongside your apparel drops.

Artwork recommendations

File spec, resolution, and gotchas.

Every file spec we would tell you on the phone if you called before uploading. No mystery, no ambiguity, and no guesswork.

  • 1SVG, AI, EPS, or PDF preferred. The vector path becomes the contour cut path directly.
  • 2PNG with a transparent background works. The cut path is extracted from the alpha channel edge.
  • 3300 DPI at final sticker size. Lower resolutions produce visible pixelation once laminated.
  • 4Add a 0.05 inch bleed inside the die line to hide any cut drift on complex shapes.
  • 5Avoid pure black at 100% K in gradients. Use rich black at C40 M30 Y30 K100 for depth.
  • 6Photographic images work but read best above 3 inches. Fine gradients compress on smaller sizes.
Questions we get

The answers most competitors will not put in writing.

Are these stickers actually die-cut, or contour-printed with a rectangular backing?

True die-cut. The vinyl is cut through the face material on the exact outline of your artwork, leaving the paper backer intact. When you peel the sticker off, there is no white border around your design. If you order a shield-shaped logo, the sticker is shield-shaped, not a rectangular sticker with a shield printed on it.

Will these hold up on a car bumper or in the sun?

Yes. The laminate is rated for 2 plus years of direct outdoor exposure including UV, rain, and snow. Bumper application specifically holds well because vehicle paint is a low-surface-energy substrate that the acrylic adhesive keys into cleanly. Wash the substrate with isopropyl alcohol before application to guarantee full bond.

Can I put these in the dishwasher on a Yeti or Stanley tumbler?

Do not. Vinyl on a curved dishwasher-cycled surface will lift at the edges within a dozen cycles. For drinkware use UV DTF instead. It is built for exactly that application and survives top-rack dishwasher cycles when applied to a clean room-temperature substrate.

How small can the smallest detail on my sticker be?

1.5 point stroke minimum for lines. 6 point minimum for legible text. Detail below that compresses under the laminate and disappears at reading distance. For designs with fine detail, sizing up half an inch adds legibility more than it adds cost.

Glossy or matte, which should I pick?

Glossy for packaging seals, brewery labels, and anywhere the sticker is meant to catch light and feel premium. Matte for outdoor equipment brands, tactical gear, and anywhere a subtle read is the goal. Matte hides fingerprints better on laptop and phone applications.

What is the difference between these and printed vinyl decals from a sign shop?

Full-color print plus laminate in one pass. A traditional sign shop cuts single-color vinyl or does spot-color prints, both of which limit design. Our stickers are full CMYK photographic printing under a laminate, so a photo of your product or a full-color logo comes out looking like a professional label.

Can I order a single sticker or do I need a minimum quantity?

No minimum quantity, but the per-square-inch rate makes single stickers below 3 by 3 inches uneconomical against shipping. Most orders come in packs of 25, 50, or 100 identical stickers, or mixed designs on a single order to spread the shipping cost.

Reprint Guarantee

If we mis-produce it, we reprint it free.

Every Golden DTF order carries the same written guarantee. Email us within 14 days with your order number and a photo, a production lead reviews it within one business day, and approved reprints ship free with tracking. You never re-upload and never re-pay.

Color off the file you sent

If the printed transfer does not reproduce the file you uploaded, allowing for the difference between a backlit screen and printed ink, we reprint it. We calibrate our press against the same target ICC every day and keep a press log for every run.

Missing ink or dropout

White ink dropouts, thin black lines that did not lay down, or missing detail from a small text run: if it left our shop that way, we reprint it.

Film delamination before press

If the PET film separates before you press the transfer, that is a materials defect, not user error. We track film lot numbers per production run.

Wrong size or wrong file

If our team packed the wrong artwork or produced at the wrong size, we cover the reprint plus the reship.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about dtf transfers.

What is a die-cut sticker?
A die-cut sticker is precision-cut to follow the exact outline of your design rather than printed on a square or rectangular backing. The result is a sticker with no visible white border, in the silhouette of your art. We use a contour-cut process driven directly from your file's outline path.
What vinyl material do you use?
3 mil premium adhesive vinyl with a UV-cured laminate top coat. The vinyl is rated for 5-plus years of indoor use and 2-plus years of outdoor exposure to sun and weather. Available in glossy or matte finish. Scratch-resistant and waterproof.
Are these stickers weatherproof and dishwasher-safe?
Yes for outdoor use including rain, snow, and direct sunlight. The laminate blocks UV fade and seals the print against moisture. Dishwasher use is not recommended for adhesion longevity. For drinkware applications consider UV DTF instead.
What is the minimum sticker size?
Functional minimum is 1 inch on the smallest dimension. Below that, fine detail compresses and the contour cut becomes hard to follow accurately. There is no maximum size up to 22 inches wide.
How is pricing calculated for die-cut stickers?
Pricing is $0.22 per square inch based on your design's bounding box, the same per-square-inch model as our DTF transfers. A 3 by 3 inch sticker is 9 square inches at $1.98. No minimum order. Single stickers welcome.
What file format do you accept for stickers?
PNG with transparent background is preferred. PDF, AI, EPS, and SVG also work and are ideal because the cut line is extracted directly from the vector path. JPG is accepted but the entire rectangular image will print and cut without a transparent silhouette.
