Next Level Blanks: Fashion Fit, CVC Blends, Boutique DTF Results

Next Level competes on fit and fabric feel at a price point between Gildan and Bella+Canvas. The 3600 and 6210 are the two SKUs worth understanding before you pick one.

The Golden Take

Short version, straight from the floor.

Next Level built a catalog around fashion-fit blanks at a mid-tier price. The 3600 unisex cotton tee and the 6210 CVC are the two SKUs most print shops stock. Both are combed and ring-spun with a softer hand than comparably priced competitors, and both fit closer to a retail fashion silhouette than Gildan's traditional cut.

  • Using the 3600 where the CVC 6210 is the right call. For a shop doing volume with repeat washes, the CVC 6210 holds shape and color better than the straight 3600 over time. If your customer is washing the shirt 50 times, pick the CVC. If they are wearing it 5 times, either works.

  • Pressing women's-cut Next Level at the same pressure as a unisex tee. The 1510 and 1533 are thinner than the unisex 3600. Reduce platen pressure by about 15 percent versus your unisex setting. Excess pressure on a 3.5 oz blank can crack the transfer at the edge on the first wash.

  • Expecting Bella+Canvas brand recognition from a Next Level tee. Next Level is a quality blank, not a marketing asset. If your customer's customer is picking a shirt based on brand recognition, they know Bella+Canvas, Comfort Colors, and Gildan. Next Level works when the blank brand is not part of the sale pitch.

  • Ignoring the poly content of the 6210 on dark red colorways. The 6210 CVC has a poly ratio low enough that migration is uncommon, but test on dark red, burgundy, and maroon before a production run. Two minutes of testing on a swatch prevents a client callback.

What this is

A production-floor definition, not a spec sheet.

At the same price as Bella+Canvas on the low end, Next Level trades some fabric depth for a slightly slimmer fit on the unisex styles.

The 6210 CVC is the smarter stock choice for most shop environments. The cotton-polyester CVC blend resists shrinkage better than straight cotton, holds color through washes slightly longer, and gives the shirt a consistent weight wash to wash. The poly content means you need to check for dye migration on red and burgundy colorways, but at the low poly ratio of the 6210, migration is rare. If you stock only one Next Level SKU, make it the 6210.

The women's line (1510, 1533, 1540) is thinner than the unisex equivalents. At 3.5 to 4.3 oz, these are true fashion-weight blanks aimed at boutique retail rather than general merchandise. DTF adhesion is solid at standard cotton settings, but the lighter weight means you should reduce platen pressure slightly versus a heavyweight tee to avoid transfer cracking at the hem edge during press.

Next Level does not have the brand recognition of Bella+Canvas or Comfort Colors in the boutique retail market, but for print shops selling decorated tees to the general public rather than brand-conscious buyers, the price-to-quality ratio is one of the best in the mid-tier segment. If your customer cannot name the blank brand on the hang tag, Next Level is frequently the right call.

Who this is for

The roles and jobs this hub actually serves.

  • Print shops serving general merchandise accounts where fabric quality matters but brand name does not (Journey 3).
  • Etsy sellers producing fashion-fit tees at volume who want to stay under premium blank pricing.
  • Brand founders testing a second colorway or style who need a lower-cost complement to a Bella+Canvas hero.
  • Event coordinators ordering women's-cut spirit wear where fit matters more than weight.
  • Corporate uniform programs that need a fashion-forward option without full boutique pricing.
  • School programs ordering women's-cut fundraiser tees alongside a unisex run.
