Single-unit and sub-10-unit orders
You will not feel the value at $0.75 a square inch over standard DTF at $0.06. Below 10 units the setup cost of a premium finish never amortizes.
Event tees, church shirts, family reunions, team merch
The audience never inspects decoration finish. Dimensional build reads as overkill on a $12 shirt and eats margin you cannot recover.
Kids' athletic and high-abrasion workwear
Raised builds pick up snag risk on jungle gyms, restaurant kitchens, and tool belts. Wash cycles above 40 with heat drying accelerate edge lift.
Photo-real or halftone-heavy artwork
The dimensional cure softens sub-2 pt lines and fine halftone dots. Photography and complex CMYK gradients read cleaner on flat DTF.

Build height, feel, press cycle, peel behavior, wash durability, plus the production notes you would only know after your first run.
Best on structured garments, not on drape or slouch styles. The build wants to sit on a firm substrate.
Chest and back placements should sit 3 inches or more from any seam or hem to keep the press cycle uniform.
Sleeve applications need a sleeve press platen. Standard clamshells crush the shoulder or leave the outer edge under-pressed.
Hat crowns must be pressed on a curved cap press, not a flat platen. Standard flat presses will fracture the raised edge along the crown radius.
Not marketing tradeoffs. The real "when to reach for this instead" call, made by people who run the presses.

If the printed transfer does not reproduce the file you uploaded, allowing for the difference between a backlit screen and printed ink, we reprint it. We calibrate our press against the same target ICC every day and keep a press log for every run.
White ink dropouts, thin black lines that did not lay down, or missing detail from a small text run: if it left our shop that way, we reprint it.
If the PET film separates before you press the transfer, that is a materials defect, not user error. We track film lot numbers per production run.
If our team packed the wrong artwork or produced at the wrong size, we cover the reprint plus the reship.
