Golf Outing Uniform Cost: A Budget Breakdown

A golf outing polo with a logo is a real cost line in your event budget. Run the numbers before you commit to a blank, a quantity, and a logo size, and you will avoid the most common budget surprises.

Where the Money Goes

The blank polo is the largest line item. A quality moisture-wicking polo runs $18 to $28 per shirt depending on brand and whether you source it through a wholesale blank supplier. For a 72-player outing, that is $1,296 to $2,016 in blanks alone before any decoration.

Decoration with a standard left chest DTF transfer, around 3.5 by 3.5 inches, costs $0.74 per shirt at the base rate of $0.06 per square inch. On a 72-shirt run, your total transfer spend is about $53, which puts you above the $50 threshold for an 8% discount. If the design is larger or you add a secondary sponsor logo, the cost scales accordingly.

Sponsor Logos as a Separate Line Item

Many golf outings carry a sleeve sponsor or a secondary right chest logo in addition to the main event logo. Each additional logo is a separate DTF transfer and adds to your per-shirt cost. A 2-by-3-inch sleeve logo costs $0.36 per shirt at base rate.

If sponsors are paying for logo placement, factor the cost of producing that transfer into what you charge them. A sponsor paying $500 for logo placement on 72 shirts is covering the $26 transfer cost and contributing $474 to your event budget. That is worth surfacing clearly in your sponsorship pitch.

Volume Discounts on a Typical Outing

A 72-player outing with a single left chest logo will spend about $53 in transfers, clearing the $50 threshold for an 8% discount. Add a sleeve sponsor logo and you are at roughly $79, crossing the $50 mark comfortably. A larger chest logo or a back print pushes you toward the $99 threshold and a 12% discount.

The most cost-effective approach for events is to combine all logo placements into a single transfer order placed at once. Ordering the main logo, the sleeve sponsor, and any staff shirt logos together maximizes your order total and the discount tier you hit.

Timing and Minimum Viable Timeline

Commit your logo and player count at least three weeks before the event. That covers transfer production, shipping, and pressing. Orders placed before 1 pm ET ship the same day and reach most continental US addresses in two to three business days.

Do not wait for your final RSVP count to place the order. Use your committed count plus 5 percent for size flexibility. An extra three to four polos in medium and large covers late additions without requiring a separate order at a lower volume discount.
