Next Level 3600 vs 6210: Cotton vs CVC and Why It Matters for DTF
The Next Level 3600 at 4.3oz 100% combed ring-spun cotton and the 6210 CVC at 4.5oz 60/40 cotton-poly look nearly identical on the rack but have meaningfully different DTF press settings, dye migration profiles, and end-use positions.

Next Level 3600: 4.3oz 100% combed ring-spun cotton, fitted retail cut, side-seamed, excellent softness and drape. Next Level 6210 CVC: 4.5oz 60% combed cotton / 40% polyester, same fitted retail cut, slightly heavier, slightly silkier hand feel due to the polyester component.
The 6210 is heavier by 0.2oz, which is noticeable when you hold the two side by side but not meaningful in end-use wear. The fit and construction are essentially the same. The fabric behavior under a heat press is quite different.
Hand Feel and Appearance
The 3600 has a natural cotton softness and matte appearance that is typical of quality ring-spun cotton. The 6210 has a slightly more polished, slightly silkier surface due to the polyester content. The 6210 also has a hint of stretch that the cotton 3600 does not have.
In retail settings, most customers cannot distinguish between the two by sight. The difference is noticeable by touch for customers who are fabric-aware. For brands where the cotton story is part of the product narrative, the 3600 is the correct choice.
DTF Settings for Each
For the 3600: 315°F, 14-15 seconds, slightly below medium pressure, no poly blocker needed. Standard cotton settings apply. For the 6210: 295-305°F, 15 seconds, medium pressure, poly blocker on white and light colorways.
This is the critical practical difference between the two blanks. If you press a white 6210 at 315°F without poly blocker, you will see dye migration within 10-15 washes. The 40% polyester content is enough to produce visible discoloration on light prints at standard cotton temperatures.
When to Choose CVC Over Cotton
Choose the 6210 when your customer needs: better shape retention over time, reduced shrinkage (the poly content significantly reduces shrinkage vs 100% cotton), a slight stretch component for comfort, or a slightly more wrinkle-resistant garment.
Choose the 3600 when the customer values: a 100% natural fiber story, maximum softness, or simplicity in your press workflow. Managing the dye migration requirement on light-color 6210s adds a step that some operations prefer to avoid by defaulting to 100% cotton.
