Port Authority Polo Lineup
Port Authority offers polos across multiple fabric and price tiers. The K500 (their most popular) is a 100% polyester snag-resistant pique. The K110 is a cotton-poly blend for a softer, more traditional pique feel. The K540 PosiCharge RacerMesh is their athletic performance polo. All are widely available through blank apparel distributors and priced competitively for corporate volume work.
The most important distinction is cotton vs polyester construction. Cotton-blend polos like the K110 follow cotton DTF settings (315°F, 15 seconds, medium pressure) and require no poly blocker. Full polyester styles like the K500 and K540 require 285°F, 12 seconds, and poly blocker on light colors.
Sizing and Consistency
Port Authority polo sizing is among the most consistent in the market, which matters for corporate and team orders where uniformity is essential. Size runs are reliable enough to order without seeing the garment first once you have worked with a specific style previously.
Port Authority polos are sized slightly more generously than fashion-fit blanks. A medium Port Authority K500 is roomier than a medium Bella Canvas 3001. For corporate uniform orders where comfort and range of motion matter, this generous sizing is an advantage.
DTF Application on Polo Fabric
For polyester Port Authority polos, press at 285°F for 12 seconds at medium pressure with poly blocker on any white or light-color garment. The smooth pique or mesh surface of a polo accepts DTF transfers well at these settings. Pre-press for 3-4 seconds.
Left-chest logo placement is standard for polo decoration: 3-4 inches from the left placket seam, 4-5 inches below the collar. Keep logos under 4 inches wide to stay proportional on all polo sizes from XS through 4XL.
Corporate vs Team Positioning
For corporate and hospitality uniform orders, the K500 micro-pique is the go-to recommendation. It looks professional, washes well, and comes in 40+ colors. The pique texture is familiar enough to read as a classic polo to any business customer.
For team and athletic orders, the K540 RacerMesh is the upgrade recommendation. More breathable, more performance-oriented, and signals activity rather than corporate formality. Position it explicitly as the team-performance polo option when taking athletic organization orders.
