Bella Canvas 3001 vs Next Level 3600 Compared
The 3001 and 3600 are the two most popular premium retail-fit tees in the decorated apparel market, priced within cents of each other, with enough differences in hand feel, fit, and DTF press behavior to make the choice matter for your brand.

Specs Side by Side
Bella Canvas 3001: 4.2oz Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton, side-seamed, taped neck, retail fit. Next Level 3600: 4.3oz combed ring-spun cotton, side-seamed, fitted retail cut. The 0.1oz weight difference is not meaningful in practice, but the cotton processing differs. Bella uses the Airlume process for a slightly higher consistency and softness. Next Level uses standard combed ring-spun.
Both are 100% cotton, both are side-seamed, and both are widely available in 40-plus colorways. They are priced within $0.50-1.00 of each other at most tiers.
Fit and Sizing
The 3600 runs slightly more fitted than the 3001 in the shoulders and chest. A person who wears a medium in both will find the 3600 slightly tighter across the chest and the 3001 slightly more relaxed. Neither is better. They serve different aesthetic preferences.
Sizing consistency is excellent on both. Blank-to-blank variation within a single order is minimal on both the 3001 and 3600 from reputable suppliers. This is important for print placement consistency in production runs.
DTF Press Behavior
Both press identically for DTF purposes: 315°F, 14-15 seconds, slightly below medium pressure, cold peel after 20 seconds. The thin fabric on both heats quickly and responds well to DTF adhesive. The Airlume cotton of the 3001 is marginally softer at the surface, which produces a slightly softer print hand on the finished product, though the difference is subtle.
Both blanks produce excellent DTF print durability at Golden DTF specifications (USA-made commercial inks, 50-plus wash cycles at 40°C). Neither has a meaningful advantage over the other in wash durability at correct press settings.
Which to Order
Choose the Bella 3001 when your customers are brand-aware and recognize the Bella Canvas name as a quality signal. The 3001 has strong retail recognition, especially in boutique and lifestyle brand markets. It is also the safer choice for customers who mention they have ordered it before.
Choose the Next Level 3600 when you want a slightly more body-conscious fit or when the Bella 3001 is out of stock in your color. The 3600 is a fully equal blank in quality. In blind hand-feel tests, most customers cannot distinguish between the two. Order a sample of each from Golden DTF before committing to one for a brand build.
